In 2005 and older models, check throttle linkage by opening throttle body fully and inspecting surfaces and deposits and ensure thin coating of seal to throttle valve and throttle bore is not removed. To change, de-attach the cable off the negative terminal on the battery, remove hose clamps and also remove air intake duct. Then, remove the throttle lever accelerator cable, and in case the car has a cruise control, remove the cruise control cable off the throttle linkage. Label and disconnect all vacuum hoses at the throttle body, and disconnect coolant hoses plugging to avoid the loss of the coolant. Unconnect the electrical contacts to the Throttle Position Sensor and Idle Air Control valve, unscrew the four throttle body mounting nuts/bolts and disconnect the throttle body and gasket to the intake manifold. Clean throttle body casting using soft brush and carburetor cleaner, then blow out all passages using compressed air in such a manner that the throttle position sensor is not cleaned with any material except using soft cloth. Removal is the opposite of installation, and insuring that the throttle body mounting nuts/bolts are attached to the required tightness. In 2006 and subsequent models drain the coolant, disconnect air intake duct, disconnect electrical connector and coolant hoses of throttle body and remove throttle body of air intake plenum and dispose old gasket. Installation is done in reverse with a new gasket and tightening the throttle body mounting bolts to the needed torque.
