Remove the front pulley previously installed to check the eccentric shaft end play. Install a new O-ring on the oil passage of the front housing. Ensure the gasket surface of the front housing is clean and smooth, then install a new gasket to the housing. Place the front cover into position on the front housing and tighten the attaching bolts, using a new gasket and O-ring. If a new oil seal has not already been installed in the front cover, pry the old one out and tap a new one into place with a hammer and wood block. Apply a little engine oil to the front cover oil seal. Install the eccentric shaft front pulley and tighten to specifications. Turn the engine over and install the oil pickup tube and strainer to the front housing with a new gasket. Use a knife to trim off the excess gasket material on the oil pan mounting flange where the front cover meets the front housing, ensuring the area is perfectly smooth and free of any dirt or old sealer. Apply a bead of silicone sealant to the oil pan mounting flange, just inside the bolt holes. Add more sealant to the oil pan gasket and then place the gasket onto the oil pan. Install the oil pan and attaching bolts, tightening them to a torque of 5 to 7 ft-lb, working around the oil pan a little at a time.
