To work under the dashboard, when working on 2004 and earlier models, disconnect the pushrod of the clutch master cylinder to the pedal and unscrew the nut of the cloth master cylinder bracket. Start and end locking pliers to the clutch fluid feed hose to stop the flow of the fluid a few inches below the brake fluid reservoir after which remove the reservoir hose that is attached to the clutch master cylinder. Disconnect hydraulic line fitting at the cylinder with flare-nut wrench with rags ready to receive fluid loss, and cap or plug ends of the line to avoid leakage and contamination. Take the other mounting nut out to uncouple the cylinder to the firewall, ensuring that the brake fluid does not get on to the paint. To install, affix the master cylinder on the firewall and attach the mounting nut by a finger-tight fit. Install the hydraulic line fitting to the clutch master cylinder and screw it on finger tight, attach the mounting nut to the intended tightening torque and screw the hydraulic line fitting. Connect the fluid feed hose of the reservoir into the clutch master cylinder and fix the hose clamp then remove the locking pliers. Install the remaining mounting nut under the dash and tighten it to the recommended torque followed by attaching the pushrod to the clutch pedal. Use the suggested brake fluid in filling the reservoir and bleed the clutch system. In 2005-2012 models, disconnect the clutch hose to the brake master cylinder, plug the hose and the port on the clutch master cylinder, remove all the mounting nuts on the clutch master cylinder, take off the pushrod on the master cylinder, and place rags under the master cylinder.
