To remove windshield wiper motor/linkage assembly, first disconnect the wiper motor harness connector, remove the cowl cover and remove the mounting bolts. To remove the motor assembly from the cowl area, lift it up and mark the position of the motor arm to the shaft. Remove linkage, arm and mounting bolts to detach the motor from the bracket. The installation consists of the removal steps done in the reverse order with the markings made correctly aligned. When battery is reconnected, Powertrain Control Module must relearn idle and fuel trim strategy for optimal efficiency and performance. For models after 2013, unbolt the bolts on the motor assembly and lift it so the electrical connection breaks. Remove the motor assembly afterwards. To access the rear window wiper motor, remove the rear window wiper arm, its protective cover and nut. After, open the liftgate to remove the motor's plastic cover.
