Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Using a trim removal tool, carefully pry off the center trim panel from the console. Unscrew the shift knob from the shift lever. With the trim removal tool, carefully pry off the shift indicator panel or boot panel from the console and disconnect any electrical connectors. On 2010 and later models, the center trim panel and center console outer panel are one piece, surrounding the heater control assembly and extending around the shift indicator panel. Ensure all clips are pried up around the perimeter of the panel before attempting to remove it. Adjust the seats to access and remove the two console fasteners from the sides, then slide the seats all the way rearward. For 2009 and later models, pry the rear of the console out and remove the two mounting bolts. Remove the fastener trim caps and the fasteners from the upper forward corners of the console, followed by the screws from the center and front of the console. Open the armrest at the rear of the console, remove the liner and mounting fasteners, then lift up the console and disconnect all electrical connectors. Finally, remove the center console, with installation being the reverse of removal.
