In order to take the caliper out, you need to support it and out of the way with some wire, and then it is possible to pull the rotor out of the hub. The first step is to lift the vehicle and have it firmly supported and then take out the relevant wheel assembly. The next step is to remove a caliper and brake pads, and fix the caliper using wire. In case the two small threaded screws are used to keep the rotor attached to the hub, take them out and remove the rotor. To install, do the opposite of un-installation. Measuring the disc thickness in at least eight locations, about 45 degrees apart and 0.39 in. (10mm) away at the outer edge, the minimum disc thickness is 0.87 in. (22mm) with the maximum thickness variation of only 0.0006 in. (0.015mm). When the thickness of the disc is less than the specified minimum or the difference in thickness is greater than the specifications, change the disc or rotate the rotor with an on-car brake lathe. Brake pads and shoes can also be contaminated with asbestos, a cancer-causing substance and so, one should not clean the brake surface by using compressed air and must not inhale any dust. In cleaning of brakes, commercial brake cleaning fluids are to be used.
