How should engine mounts be checked and replaced to prevent damage on Mazda MPV?

Engine mounts need not be dealt with, however damaged or worn mounts need to be changed as soon as possible to avoid damage or wear of components of the drive line. In order to test the mounts, lift the engine a bit to take the weight off of them. Start by lifting the car and getting it safely on jackstands, and then take a jack and place it under the engine oil pan, with a big block of wood between the jack head and the oil pan. The engine should be raised very carefully until it takes the weight off the mounts. Check mount insulators, and look at them when they are dry to see whether there is any cracking or fluid leakage, and whether the rubber is cracked or hardened or discontinuous between the metal plates, and so it can crack along the middle. Verify that there is no relative movement of the mount plates to the engine or frame with a large screwdriver or pry bar; should any motion be found, lower the engine and fasten the mount fasteners. To delay degradation, coating of rubber preservative on the insulators is used. To replace it, remove the negative battery cable, lift the vehicle and hold it firmly on jackstands unless it has been settled. Lift the engine, undo the fasteners, use the jack to lift the engine, and dissolve the mount of the frame bracket and engine. Install the new mount, but care not to allow it to go in the bracket and make sure that its fasteners are installed and firmly tightened.
