The steps to follow to take out the front wheel include the unlocking of the lug nuts, engagement of the parking brake, lifting the front of the car, and maintaining it on jack stands before detaching the wheel. Then, with the required equipment, unscrew the cotter pin out of the castle nut and unscrew the nut on the tie-rod end stud, although some models can have self-locking nuts. Hold the tie-rod with locking pliers or a wrench and loosen the jam nut until it is positioned with reference to the threads. Use a puller to disattach the tie-rod end of the
Steering Knuckle arm, then loosen the nut followed by the tie-rod end, and then unscrew it off the tie-rod. To fit, push the tie-rod end into the marked mark then screw a stud into the steering knuckle arm and screw the jam nut into place. Install and screw the nut on the stud to the desired torque with a new cotter pin required in case of a castle nut with some adjustments in the nut fitting. Lastly, fit the wheel, lug nuts, lower the car, fit the lug nuts up to the correct torque and have the alignment corrected and adjusted, as necessary.
