How can Wheel Seal oil leaks from driveaxle oil seals be repaired without removing the transaxle on Mazda 3?

The leaks of oil are often caused by the wear of the driveaxle oil seals, and the replacement of the seals is not that difficult because the repair may be held without the need to get the transaxle out of the car. Driveaxle oil seals are fitted on the sides of transaxle where the driveaxles are fastened. In case there is suspicion of leakage at the seal, lift the vehicle and put it on jackstands. In case the seal is leaking, lubricant will be observed on the sides of the transaxle, underneath the seals. The transaxle bore oil seal is installed with a screwdriver or prybar to pry it out carefully. In case the oil seal cannot be taken off by using a screw driver or prybar then a special oil seal remover tool that can be purchased in the automobile parts stores will be needed. Install the new oil seal using a drift that is a slightly smaller circular section that is a seal driver or a large deep socket. Insert it into the bore and ensure that it is firmly seated. Apply transaxle lubricant on the seal lip. Install the driveaxle(s) and take care not to bend the lip of the new seal with the inboard splines of the driveaxle.

Take off the wheel cover or hub cap and loosen up the hub nut with a socket and large breaker bar. Unscrew the lug nuts of the wheel, lift up the car and place it against jackstands and then take off the wheel. Removal of the right driveaxle, the intermediate shaft and exhaust crossover pipe should follow. Unscrew the three bolts that are holding the heat shield and then unbolt the heat shield. Take off the dust shield and with a seal removal tool or a big screwdriver, carefully pull out the oil seal with care taken not to scratch the seal bore. Last but not least, check the level of transfer case lubricant and fill in some in case it is lower than it should be.
