The MPV has rear-wheel drive integrated hub/bearing assemblies that do not have to be serviced but have to be replaced. One must note that it is important not to confuse sodium-based and lithium-based greases, in the event of uncertainty about the type of grease, clean the old grease first and then replace it. Removing all dirt of the housing, removing bearings to be handled carefully, using clean tools in a neat environment and wearing clean, dry gloves or hands, these are just some of the tips to consider when handling bearings. There must be clean solvents and flushing fluids and bearings must be laid off rust and dirt. Do not work in unsanitary conditions, use tools of an ill condition, or bearings with unclean hands. Cleaning should not be done with gasoline and bearings should never be spin-dried or spun dirty. It is done by removing the wheel hub/bearing assemblies, cleaning them with a non flammable solvent, checking them to see if worn or damaged, filling the hub and bearings with clean grease, and replacing the assemblies. In the four-wheel drive, replacement is also allowed in the sealed bearing assemblies in the steering knuckle. The cleaning and packing processes are the same in pickups. To the Navajos, the locking hub assembly should be taken off initially, then the wheel bearing assemblies which should be greased with disc brake wheel bearing grease and then put back.
