It is essential to give the engine time to cool down before loosening any plugs so as not to damage the aluminum cylinder heads and in the meantime, check the new plugs and close the gaps. This is checked between the electrodes on the tip of the plug with a proper-thickness gauge, where the curved electrode is slid with a slight drag, and, should it be necessary, the curved side electrode may be bent slightly.
