Mazda Transmission Assembly

The Transmission Assembly effectively manages the distribution of engine torque so that every push of the pedal is translated into smooth motion. Likewise, driving a Mazda won't make you feel uncertain to take off from the stop sign, especially on a steep hill. You can also stay in the comfort of the driver's seat while the engine revs efficiently. Mazda has always built cars that are fun yet sensible. From a trailblazing rotary configuration to the SKYACTIV powertrain that sips gasoline but never dampens excitement. The KODO design language of the brand shapes bodies that look like they are moving even while parked. The i-ACTIVSENSE features bring smart protection on the city streets or open highways. Mazda is also rolling out hybrids and i-ACTIV all-wheel drive. This proves that continuous innovation can sit alongside the brand's famous fun-to-drive character. Every model aims to combine style, efficiency and engaging handling so daily drives feel like the weekend. When you're inside a Mazda, intuitive controls and carefully designed cabins await you whether you are a first-timer or veteran. The Transmission Assembly is central to the car's performance beneath that inviting cover. It provides a mechanical link between the engine and the road. The Transmission Assembly cover has finely cut gear sets installed in it. These gear sets slide into gear inside a bath of lubricating oil for crisp movement. By providing multiple gear ratios, it allows the engine to spin faster for pulling or slower for economy, helping Mazda save fuel and cut emissions. The seals hold fluid to mute the gears and keep fluid from leaking out, while the strong case withstands stress from spirited driving. As such, this Transmission Assembly helps keep the whole Mazda lineup lively and efficient.

You'll get great performance and real durability when you pick genuine OEM Transmission Assembly. Mazda builds these using high-quality materials and official factory methods to ensure they hold up mile after mile. You deserve that Mazda reliability without the headache of cheap knockoffs. It is easy to find exactly what you need in our huge inventory of genuine parts. Plus, every OEM part carries a real manufacturer's warranty for your peace of mind. You will love our low prices too. Order today and we will ship your brand-new parts fast. They often reach your door in just a few days.

Mazda Transmission Assembly Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to remove and install a manual Transmission Assembly on Mazda 3?
    A:
To detach the transaxle you will first need to disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, followed by the removal of the upper engine cover. This is done by lifting it up from each side and pulling it off the mounting posts in the center. Remove the battery battery tray, air filter housing, and air duct next. Unplug the electrical connectors for back-up lighting and shift cables from the transaxle shift arms. The wire harness bracket of the transaxle should be removed, and the electrical connector of the vehicle speed sensor is disconnected. Remove the four upper engine-to-transmission mounting bolts. An engine support fixture is now attached to the lifting hook at the transaxle end of the engine. Use a proper sized and thread pitch bolt to attach the chain of the support fixture to a hole at the end of the cylinder head if no hook is available. Loosen the driveaxle/hub nuts and the wheel lug nuts; then raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jackstands before removing the wheels. Take off the lower splash shields, drain the transaxle lubricant, disconnect the clutch release cylinder and line from the transaxle and remove the clutch cable mounting bracket bolts. Take off the starter and driveaxles, then unbolt the tie-rods, stabilizer bar link and lower balljoints. Detach the transaxle mount, the through-bolt at the rear mount, and three bolts that secure the transaxle support insulator bracket; support the transaxle with a jack, preferably a transmission jack. To remove the transaxle, you must first remove any remaining lower bolts that hold the transaxle in connection with the engine and move the transaxle away from the engine to disengage it from the engine block dowel pins. Lastly, lower the transmission jack slowly to the floor to remove the transaxle. To perform installation procedures, add a small amount of high-temperature grease to the input shaft. Secure the transaxle to a jack, raise it into position directly behind the engine, and slide the transaxle forward so that the input shaft engages the clutch. It is important to avoid using excessive force. If the input shaft does not readily locate, adjust the angle of the transaxle or turn the input shaft to engage the splines. Once the transaxle is flush against the engine, install the transaxle-to-engine bolts and torque to specification, Do not use the bolts to force the transaxle and engine together. The rest of the installation consists of reversing the removal procedures, ensuring that the suspension crossmember mounting bolts, driveaxle hub nuts, starter mounting bolts, and wheel lug nuts are all tightened to their specified torque values.
  • Q:
How to remove and install a automatic Transmission Assembly on Mazda MX-5 Miata?
    A:
To remove the transmission, first disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Jack the vehicle up and support it on jackstands, then remove the splash shield from underneath the front. Remove transmission fluid from the pan and reinstall it. Next, remove the exhaust pipes and other components that get in the way of pulling the transmission. On later models, remove the performance rod and the cross rod. Take the torque converter cover off. Mark the torque converter and driveplate with white paint for orientation reference to reuse this part. Remove the torque converter to driveplate bolts with the wrench as the crankshaft is turned clockwise for access. To disconnect the speedometer cable, remove the starter motor and driveshaft. Then, take off the wire harness connectors from the transmission and unhook the vacuum hoses and the oil cooler lines. Remove the shift linkage. Using a block of wood under the oil pan, jack the engine up. Jack the transmission up with the proper jack, if available, using safety chains, etc., to hold it in place. Take out the frame of the power plant, then take out the bolts clamping the transmission to the engine. To remove the transmission, lower it just slightly to disconnect and plug the transmission fluid cooler lines, remove dipstick tube, and move the transmission back to disconnect from the engine block dowel pins while ensuring the torque converter is free from the driveplate. To make sure the torque converter doesn't fall out of the transmission, secure it in place, and lower the transmission from the car slowly. Before installation, the hub of the torque converter should be seated in the pump and bolt flange in position. Once the transmission has been fastened, raise it to position it correctly and level the transmission against the vehicle. Then connect the transmission fluid cooler lines. Using the white paint marks, align the torque converter with the driveplate. Move the transmission forward until the dowel pins engage (also the torque converter). Install the housing-to-engine bolts. Torque converter-to-driveplate bolts should be installed and tightened, followed by the installation and tightening of the power plant frame bolts and nuts. Take out the jacks holding up the transmission and engine, install the dipstick tube (with a new O-ring) and reinstall the starter motor. Attach the vacuum hoses, shift linkage, and wiring harness connectors for the transmission. Install the torque converter cover and driveshaft, connect the speedometer cable, adjust the shift linkage, and reinstall exhaust system components as necessary. Overall, you can also put your splash shield back in position, lower the vehicle, fill the transmission with the right fluid, run the engine, and check for fluid leaks.
