Removal of the rear stabilizer bar requires first loosening of the rear wheel lug nuts, elevating the rear of the vehicle and placing it firmly on jackstands ensuring that the front wheels are blocked so that it does not roll. The next step is to loosen the links of the stabilizer bar to the bar and lower suspension arms by using an Allen wrench to hold the ballstud in case the latter turns during the process. The stabilizer bar bushing clamps are unbolted and the stabilizer bar is directed out of between the subframe and the EVAP shield and the EVAP shield mounting bolts are removed so that the stabilizer bar is able to move. When the stabilizer bar is disengaged, remove the retainer bushings and examine them to make sure they are not cracked, worn, or otherwise worn out and replace them if needed. Wipe a stiff wire brush to clean the bushing part of the stabilizer bar.
